The 9th French Excellence Ceremony has awarded AirMems and 7 other startups for their breakthrough innovations in the Space sector, in the company of CNES (French Space Agency) and Thomas Pesquet (French Astronaut), honnor guest.
AirMems received the « Innovation Development » Award from Mr Xavier Gaillard, Chief Executive Officer of Silab at the Prestigious Night of Carnots and Turgots. The jury, composed of investors, banks and companies has honored AirMems for its important technology advances.
Organized by the French Ministry of Education and Research and supported by BPI France (Public Bank of investment), the I-LAB contest rewards most promising young innovative companies. Among 1314 applications this year, AirMems is part of the 54 companies rewarded in the “creation-development” category.
The RF MEMS switches designed by XLIM and that aim to be industrialized by AirMems took off from Kourou on Thursday February 9th into Athena-Fidus satellite onboard of Ariana V. This project was supported by CNES and driven by Thales Alenia Space. The Athena-Fidus Satellite successfully reached its orbit. Long distance testing should be performed soon.
